David McLaren
Mr. McLaren is the vice-president of marketing and product development for Periodic Products. While serving in his prior position as the president of McLaren Design, LLC, he worked as a technical advisor to the Company, and is uniquely suited to assist the Company in developing cutting-edge products for multiple diverse markets. In his role as advisor, he helped design the product packaging for Periodic Products’ CuLator® product line and has been responsible for directing the Company’s efforts in the plastics and fiber sector. Prior to his current position, he was one of the four founding executives of Circa 1801, a Connelly Springs, North Carolina company focused on capturing the “excitement of blending art and science” in the creation of unique woven materials and the use of unique fibers. Circa’s clients included high-end furniture manufacturers such as Baker, Bernhardt, Century, Ethan Allen, Henredon, Lee Industries, Kravet, Robert Allen, Stroheim and Romann, Thomasville, and Waverly. While at Circa 1801, Mr. McLaren was responsible for both product development and process optimization, and was instrumental in integrating product design with the manufacturing process to increase profitability by decreasing overall manufacturing complexity. He was also responsible for the development of durable fabrics for the high-traffic and outdoor markets for clients such as Maharam and Steelcase. Prior to his position at Circa 1801, Mr. McLaren held senior positions at Chatham Manufacturing (Elkin, North Carolina), Malden Mills (Lawrence, Massachusetts), and Mastercraft Fabrics (Spindale, North Carolina). Mr. McLaren received a Bachelor of Science degree (Magna Cum Laude) in textile technology with a concentration in design from North Carolina State University.
